Like the flagship car, in 2018 the Nissan Maxima maintains its largest and fastest sedan position, increasing in size over the years while maintaining a “4-door sports car” image. While other Nissansedans such as Sentra and Altima have a dynamic front style, Nissan Maxima extends the latest body language design, creating a bold design consisting of folds, wrinkles and a chrome grille almost taken from a Toyota Avalon or Volkswagen Passat. Inside, the Maxima offers a series of thicker reinforced sports seats, high-quality soft touch materials and unexpected touches, such as a standard navigation radio and a flat-bottomed steering wheel.
Although Maxima’s behavior does not meet the standards set by most European sports halls, its style leaves a lot to dust. The option of staying with the front-wheel drive is one of the reasons why Maxi might not live up to some enthusiastic drivers. Of course, we realize that Nissan will not go in rear-wheel drive sedans of its Infiniti luxury group, until now, the Maxima is relegated to the fight against cars like the Toyota Avalon, Chevrolet Impala and VW Passat.
What’s new in 2018?
The 2018 Maxima wins Android Auto this year, completing the Apple CarPlay and NissanConnect standards. The emergency collision and braking warning device became standard in the model at the end of 2017 and was included in all 2018 Maxima models.
What we like
Direct motor with V6 directional power; comfortable sports seats; beautiful futuristic interior style outdoors; Standard emergency collision warning and braking system
What we do not do
It does not sink, as do some sport sedans with rear-wheel drive; the interior feels a bit tight; NissanConnect can be easier to use; small trunk
$ 33,905 – $ 43,000
The Maxima is equipped with a 3.5-liter V6 that offers 300 horsepower and 261 pounds of power. A continuously variable automatic transmission with manual mode and a Step Logic Shift Simulated-D shift transmission is the only option, but it helps to get to an Environmental Protection Agency. Maxima estimates 21 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway.

Kirk Bell spent time at the wheel of Nissan Maxima. She was impressed, but she was not entirely convinced that it was the best 4-door sports sedan that Nissan could build.
Bell wrote: “On the way, the V6 books as much as this side of the Nissan V8 or V6 turbo say zero at 60 mph in less than six seconds to give it a hit … blow, and the transmission is doing a good job avoiding the disadvantages that are common with the CVT, because six preset relationships come into play if the driver applies thirds of gas or more, Americans are accustomed to traditional automation, instead of propagating high-speed changes with a rubbery feel affecting other CVT If less than three parts of the throttle are applied, you will never realize that you adjust the transmission by constantly changing the gear instead of changing the gear.It has the same points programmed into your CVT, but the characteristics are more sensitive and are more gratifying at the maximum.
“Now in its eighth generation, the Nissan Maxima is more than a luxury car of what it has never been, with a truly impressive cabin, a power set, ready and a bold new design.” Cache Everything And this is funny enough As for driving, the Maxima is more a family car that has a sedan and it certainly is not a four-door sports car.
Other machines to consider
Chevrolet Impala 2018 – The Impala is not as sporty as its handling, and its V6 engine is optional, but it is as sophisticated as the Maxima, with more interior space and better information and entertainment system.
Volkswagen Passat 2018: Passat is more elegant than Maxima, but offers a bigger trunk and rear seats. The standard 4-cylinder turbo of the Passat is not the same for the V6 of the Màxima, and even the optional V6 of the Passat has a value of 20 hp.
Toyota Avalon 2018 – Avalon has a level of sophistication superior to that of the highs, as well as a great rear seat of features that help the standard driver of a less polarized style and a hybrid model.
BMW 5 Series: a second-hand BMW 5 Series 2010-2015 will give you almost the same interior as the Maxima, but with the maneuverability and handling of a vehicle labeled as a sports sedan.
If you are looking for the maximum potential performance Maxima, SR is the clearest option. However, if you are looking for a less discordant disc with the same acceleration and luxury, the SV satisfies most needs. Unfortunately, if you want advanced collision avoidance systems to be available to most of Maxima’s cheapest competitors, expensive SL, SR and Platin are the only way to get them.
